LocationRockingham County, Virginia. From Harrisonburg, Virginia, go south on Route 42 (John Wayland Highway) to Dayton. Then turn right (West) on Rt. 257 (Ottobine Rd). Drive six miles to the intersection of Rt. 257 and Rt. 613. The Ottobine Store is on the right. Continue straight ahead on Rt. 742 (Waggys Creek Road) for 0.7 miles. Just beyond the Ottobine School, the farm of Sam and Elaine Zimmerman (2009) is on the left. Their home is on the top of a hill. There is a barn behind the house and the cemetery is behind the barn. Mrs. Zimmerman knows nothing about the cemetery.
NotesCemetery is a small plot and is not maintained. One stone is standing and two more are broken on the ground. In 1967 J. Robert Swank wrote: There is evidence of 6 or more other graves. The plot covers an area approximately 30 or 40 feet. Marriage bond in Harrisonburg courthouse shows Joseph Minnick married 10 Mar 1833 to Elizabeth Taylor daughter of Jones Taylor.
