Cemetery | Slate Lick Run Cemeteries |
Location | Rockingham County, Virginia. Cemetery is located west of Routes 612 and 817 in the George Washington National Forest. West of the Carr place now Joseph Funk place. |
Notes | In 1967 J. Robert Swank wrote: There is said to be two family burial plots on the right side of Slate Lick Run on the bank. Both now overgrown. No lettered stones. Some thought early settlers by name of Shoemaker may have been buried in one of the plots and Lambs in the other. There are 12 to 15 buried in the upper plot (Shoemaker family). In 2008 no attempt was made to find these cemeteries. |
