Location | Broadway, Rockingham County, Virginia. From Harrisonburg, Virginia, take Route 42 north (Harpine Highway) to Broadway. Turn right onto Route 1421 (E. Springbrook Road). Go 5/10th mile and go right onto Brethren Road. Go 2/10th mile and cemetery is located by the church. |
Notes | Refer to Linville Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery Recordings. In Section 1 at the beginning of Row 20, there is a memorial that reads: "In Gratitude to the Church Fathers who dedicated this parcel of land for the burial of Black People- Marker placed by M. R. Zigler & S. D. Lindsay 1980." And in Section 1 at the beginning of Rows 15 & 16, J. Robert Swank noted there are 5 Negro graves. There were others said to be buried here-no markers. The caretaker of the cemetery does not have good records of early graves and the church uses J. Robert Swanks recording for it's records. |
