Rockingham County Virginia Tombstones by Cemetery

CemeteryMiller Family Cemetery 2
LocationFulks Run, Rockingham County, Virginia. From Fulks Run Grocery, continue west on Route 259 for about 2 miles. Turn left onto Route 819 (Yankeytown Road also Marshall Run Road). After crossing the bridge, take the first left onto a gravel lane to Anna Lee Wittig Lantz's home (previously owned by Samuel Miller). The cemetery is on the hill behind the barn.
NotesIn 1967 J. Robert Swank noted "There are many field stones. Space would indicate probably 100 graves." Please note there are two Negro burials listed and, legend says there were other Negro slaves buried in this cemetery, but their names are unknown. In 2003 Shirley Cullers Miller writes, " According to the size, sunken places, a few marked tombstones, and field stone markings, there are about 45 to 50 burials in this Miller Cemetery, but the rest of their names are unknown." Cemetery records compiled by Shirley Cullers Miller using headstones, field/river rocks, papers of Warren Souder and Lewis Yankey, J. Robert Swank’s 1967 records, and through interviews with area residents.
