Location | Singers Glen area, Rockingham County, Virginia. Was located south of junction of Route 613 (Turleytown Road) and Route 774 (Joseph Funk Lane), in an open field, on the Dan Ruddle farm in 1967. |
Notes | No attempt was made to find this cemetery in 2003. In 1967 J. Robert Swank note: There is no evidence of the plot at present. The stone with inscription was located and will be placed in the nearby Singers Glen Cemetery. Jacob Freeze owned the land in 1806 and probably earlier. Names of heirs to the Jacob Freeze estate were: Henry, Sarah (wife of B. F. Mitchell), Jacob Jr., John, James, Susan. Jacob Freeze married Catherine Snider, daughter of Martin; Jacob Freeze (Jr.?) married in 1828 Elvira Pierce; John Freeze married in 1806 to Margaret Wideck widow of John Wideck; James H. Freeze married in 1860 to Josephine Palser, daughter of David & Elizabeth; John Freeze, son of Jacob & Elvira, married 1863 to Susan Eaton, daughter of Samuel and Mary. |
