Resource references for the entries are especially valuable. Appendices include Sources & Other Publications of Interest; and lists of the Colored Schools of Rockingham County, Lucy F. Simms Educator of the Year Awardees, and local African American Cemeteries; and rolls of Rockingham United States Colored Troops (USCT) and WWI African American Servicemen.
