The first-of-its-kind book features stories from all levels of baseball from around the state, with many of the chapters focusing on the Rockingham County Baseball League, the Valley League, JMU, Bridgewater College, and EMU. There is a special afterword on Ray Heatwole, the former head baseball coach at TA, Bridgewater, and JMU.

Driver played for Heatwole at TA and also played for EMU and Clover Hill of the RCBL. He covered the Washington Nationals for several years, including the World Series year of 2019 for The Washington Times, and is the former sports editor of the Daily News-Record.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase.

Karl Rhodes, author of the popular Peggy’s War, and David Driver were classmates in a journalism class at Turner Ashby. Karl hopes to attend the book signing, too (and will certainly sign his book for you!).
